Giving
Back to Communities

XCG
Consulting has been helping our clients solve environmental
issues since 1990 and believes in giving back to the communities
we serve.

Our team
will continue to do so in 2019.

We Raised Money and Awareness with a Movember
Campaign

The
‘XCGrowers’ team surpassed our fundraising goal with $2,180
raised! The dream team consisted of seven confident, facial hair
growing machines whose dedication to the cause never waivered,
even in the face of disgruntled girlfriends and wives, teen
‘stache references, and itchy faces. Tom Williams, Dan Brenner,
Connor Davis, Chris Mitchell, Darin Shore, and Ben Beelen, thank
you for donating your faces to this great cause. Everyone else,
THANK YOU for donating your money and support to help us surpass
our goal.

XCG’s
Tyler Mahn (second from right) organizes this Movember team every
year partly because he thinks he looks fantastic with a
moustache, but more seriously because we’ve all had our life or
know someone whose life has been drastically impacted by prostate
cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, or suicide. Too many
men ignore the symptoms and signs that something is wrong until
it’s too late. If you are a man reading this (or are next to
one), put the responsibility of your health into your own hands, get
informed, and see your physician for an annual check-up. Early
detection is and always will be a major component in your
long-term health, along with choosing a lifestyle that optimizes
your well-being.

Since
XCG began participating in Movember as a company back in 2013, we
have raised over $13,500 and have helped to fund more than 1,200
mens’ health projects around the world.

We Built Homes with Habitat for Humanity

This
past fall, all three offices of XCG picked up hammers and got to
work to help Habitat for Humanity build homes in Kitchener (Sept.
6), Kingston (Sept. 7), and Edmonton (Oct. 12).

The
Kitchener team (pictured) got to work for Habitat Waterloo Region
and raised over $3,600 while completing a number of home projects
at the development. This generous donation means several more
local families will be able to purchase safe, decent, affordable
homes this year providing stability for both parents and
children. The XCG Edmonton office participated in a build at
the Carter Place site in Edmonton installing beautiful flooring
for one of the homes. The XCG Kingston team joined a Habitat crew
in that community to help add interior finishes to a new home.
XCG is proud to be able to give back to our local communities –
and also have some fun as a team!

We Give Blood – All Year and with the Engineering
Blood Donor Challenge

Each
year the Canadian Blood Services challenges all Engineering,
Planning, & Consulting Companies in Greater KW & Guelph
Area to see who can get the most blood donation points in January
& February. XCG Consulting Limited signed up for this
challenge earlier this year and had 126 blood donations, with 51
of them being from new donors. The challenge helped the equivalent
of 2+ people in a car accident, 15+ people to receive leukemia
treatment for a week, or 63 people undergo brain surgery.

XCG will
be participating again in 2019 and encourages everyone within the
region to give a little and help us save lives. Please help us
with the challenge in January so we can win bragging rights for
being the regions’ #1 Life Saving Engineers! Blood donors
choose their preferred organization (XCG!) on a tracking form
when they present at a blood donor clinic. For details and
to give at any time of year, visit Canadian Blood Services at
