XCG staff getting ready!

On June 13, 2014, XCG’s BIG BIKE Team rode in support of the Heart & Stroke Foundation. The event was a big success with TEAM XCG donating over $2,600 to help ensure Canadians live longer, fuller, healthier lives. Lots of fun was had by all involved.

The event started with some warm up exercise’s, followed by a ride around Winston Churchill/Bristol Circle and ended with some necessary food and refreshments. The weather cooperated nicely and a special thanks to all those who volunteered to ride the bike – pedalling was a breeze.

A vital fundraiser with impressive results. Last year, over 65,000 riders, in over 200 communities, helped raise over $8.4 million for research. Causing a commotion wherever it goes, the event is named after the Big 30-seat bike. It takes 29 people to pedal the bike for 20 minutes or 2 km of great fun, but more importantly it gives us an opportunity to engage in our community and recognize the importance of heart health. Remember that heart health doesn’t end here…. be sure to get active this summer!!
