Operations Leader – Site Assessment

Thomas joined XCG’s Environmental Services group in 2005 and is currently the Operations Leader for the Site Assessment Group. He is a licensed engineer in Alberta and Ontario, and a Qualified Person (QP) as defined by Ontario Regulation 153/04. Thomas has worked in the consulting industry as an environmental engineer for over 15 years and his primary areas of expertise are due diligence and site assessment (Phase I and II ESAs) as well as site remediation activities. He has completed projects at solid waste facilities, large heavy industrial/manufacturing facilities, residential and commercial properties, food processing facilities, metal recycling facilities, and transportation facilities (trucking, air, and rail).

Pam Cameron

Business Development Leader – Site Assessment

Pamela has been with the XCG environmental services group for over 15 years. She is a Professional Engineer and a Certified Environmental Auditor. Her work experience includes managing multi-site Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments (ESAs), managing Certificate of Approval (air and noise) applications for submission to the Ministry of Environment (MOE), conducting corporate compliance pre-acquisition audits (U.S. and Canada), environmental management system (EMS) implementation and auditing, remediation, and risk assessment. Pamela is the Business Unit Lead for the Site Assessment Group, managing a wide range of projects for industrial and commercial clients.

Kevin Shipley

Operations Leader – Remediation and Risk Assessment

Kevin is the Manager of XCG’s Kingston office and a Partner in the firm. He is a senior environmental engineer and has a wide range of experience, including managing ESA, remediation, compliance auditing, air permitting and risk assessment (RA) projects. Kevin has considerable experience in the areas of waste disposal, water and wastewater treatment, and provision of expert witness services.

Grant Walsom

Business Development Leader – Remediation and Risk Assessment

Grant has worked in the environmental consulting field since 1987. Following graduation from the University of Waterloo in Civil Engineering (Environmental and Water Resources Options), Grant joined XCG as a junior field engineer. Currently, Grant is a Partner in the firm and leads the Remediation and Risk Assessment Business Group at XCG. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in both Ontario and Alberta and is recognized as a Qualified Person by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. Through his over 20 years of experience, Grant has gained a wealth of varied site remediation experience, ranging from the standard dig-and-dump methods to oxygen enhanced bioremediation and in-situ chemical oxidation and has completed projects in eight Canadian provinces and Ten U.S. States. Grant is a designated Consulting Engineer in Ontario and sits on the Board of Directors of both the Ontario Environment Industry Association (ONEIA) and the Canadian Brownfields Network (CBN).

Cory Fountain

Operations Leader – Hazardous Materials Management

Cory is a Senior Project Manager and Operations Lead for the Hazardous Materials Management Group at XCG. He has 21 years of experience in environmental consulting having worked in Canada and the United States. Over his career, Cory has specialized in site assessment, due diligence in property transactions, and hazardous materials. He has completed hundreds of property/building condition assessments (PCAs) of various buildings including commercial office, industrial, retail, mixed use, restaurants, hotels, and low and mid-rise residential. He has completed or managed site assessments, hazardous materials surveys, and/or PCAs in most provinces in Canada – Ontario, Quebec, PEI, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. Cory is an AHERA Certified Asbestos Building Inspector and Asbestos Management  Planner.  His experience includes the management of environmental due diligence in support of several multi-site portfolio transactions with strict deadlines tied to lending agreements or multiple stakeholder requirements.
