 Thomas joined XCG's Environmental Services group in 2005 and is currently the Business Unit Leader for the Site Assessment Group. He is a licensed engineer in Alberta and Ontario, and a Qualified Person (QP) as defined by Ontario Regulation 153/04. Thomas has worked in the consulting industry as an environmental engineer for over 15 years and his primary areas of expertise are due diligence and site assessment (Phase I and II ESAs) as well as site remediation activities. He has completed projects at solid waste facilities, large heavy industrial/manufacturing facilities, residential and commercial properties, food processing facilities, metal recycling facilities, and transportation facilities (trucking, air, and rail).

Grant has worked in the environmental consulting field since 1987. Following graduation from the University of Waterloo in Civil Engineering (Environmental and Water Resources Options), Grant joined XCG as a junior field engineer. Currently, Grant is a Partner in the firm and leads the Remediation and Risk Assessment Business Group at XCG. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in both Ontario and Alberta and is recognized as a Qualified Person by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. Through his over 17 years of experience, Grant has gained a wealth of varied site remediation experience, ranging from the standard dig-and-dump methods to oxygen enhanced bioremediation and in-situ chemical oxidation and has completed projects in eight Canadian provinces and Ten U.S. States.

Randy has worked in the field of environmental consulting since 1990. He is a registered Professional Geoscientist and recognized as a Qualified Person (QP) as defined by Ontario Regulation 153/04. His primary areas of expertise is managing and directing environmental due diligence programs and environmental expenditures analysis for mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and other portfolio real estate transactions in the private sector. Previously, he has been a Principal and Director at a national consulting firm providing environmental due diligence for several national accounts including lending institutions, private equity funds and legal firms for real estate transactions across Canada and throughout the United States. Randy is the Business Unit Lead for the Hazardous Materials Management Group, directing and managing a wide range of designated substance surveys, asbestos and mould surveys, and Property/Building Condition Assessments for many industrial, retail and commercial clients.

Scott joined XCG in 2005 and is the Business Unit Leader for the Solid Waste Group. He is a Senior Project Manager with over 20 years of experience in all aspects of solid waste management as both a consultant and as a municipal landfill manager. His work experience encompasses the diverse fields of municipal government, environmental consulting, and contracting. Scott also has extensive experience in the design and construction of remedial systems.

Pamela has been with the XCG environmental services group for over 15 years.  She is a Professional Engineer and a Certified Environmental Auditor. Her work experience includes managing multi-site Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments (ESAs), managing Certificate of Approval (air and noise) applications for submission to the Ministry of Environment (MOE), conducting corporate compliance pre-acquisition audits (U.S. and Canada), environmental management system (EMS) implementation and auditing,  remediation, and risk assessment.  Pamela is the Business Unit Lead for the Industrial Services Group, managing a wide range of projects for industrial and commercial clients.

Geoff is an XCG Associate and Office Manager for the Cincinnati office.  He has been responsible for client relations and quality control for all Cincinnati office efforts since 2006.  Geoff focuses on delivering high quality engineering services to our clients, while assisting them to minimize cost and facilitate project timeliness.


Geoff’s experience includes working closely with large municipalities to plan extensive infrastructure projects and to integrate a variety of solutions.  He has managed a wide range of environmental engineering projects relating to drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater; these projects include sampling and monitoring programs, regulatory compliance, and design/construction oversight.  As Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager for projects, Geoff’s duties include review of modeling results and methods, as well as the documentation.

Melody joined XCG's water and wastewater group as a junior engineer after having spent over two years with the provincial government. Since joining XCG, she has had the opportunity to work closely with XCG’s senior management team, allowing her to develop her technical and project management skills.  Melody is the Business Unit Leader for the Wastewater Treatment Group, managing a wide range of projects such as Class Environmental Assessments and Master Plans, optimization studies, and preliminary design of treatment plant upgrades and expansions.  She has also worked closely with a number of municipalities to address wastewater treatment plant performance and capacity issues.

Janet is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and began her career at XCG, in 1998, as a project engineer. Today, Janet leads the Water Resources Group at XCG; an expert group of engineers and hydrogeologists. Throughout her time at XCG, Janet has gained a wealth of varied experience in the consulting industry. Her more recent experience includes surface water and groundwater projects but she has also worked in the Environmental Services sector as well. She was recently the project manager on a number of Source Water Protection technical studies including Water Budgets, Intake Protection Zones and Wellhead Protection Areas. Janet has also led many surface water and groundwater modelling projects including assimilative capacity studies, master drainage plans, storm water management reports, site specific risk assessments for groundwater flow, contaminant fate transport assessments and landfill monitoring reports. Regardless of the type of project, Janet and the Water Resources Group are able to provide strong technical results for our clients.

Michele joined XCG's water and wastewater group as a junior engineer after having spent three years with the federal government. Her work at XCG began with the development of several operator certification and training courses. Since then, she has had the opportunity to work closely with several members of XCG's senior management team on a variety of assignments, which has allowed her to develop her technical and project management skills. Michele is the Business Unit Leader for the Water Treatment Group, managing a wide range of projects such as Class Environmental Assessments and Master Plans, treatability and optimization studies, and the development of design guidelines and guidance manuals.

Henry joined XCG after having worked at the Ministry of the Environment developing flow metering and sampling protocols and procedures for various aspects of the provincial municipal/industrial regulatory compliance (MISA) program. His work at XCG includes the design, management and execution of field monitoring studies, many being large complex programs in both Canada and the United States, involving flow metering evaluation and application, water quality monitoring and sampling, bench/pilot/full-scale process evaluations and biological monitoring. He has also developed Guidance Manuals/SOPs for implementation of flow monitoring and sampling  programs for government agencies as well as the industrial sector. As an Associate with XCG, Henry’s role as Field Services Manager has been recognized for his attention to detail and uncompromising quality.

Luke is a GIS specialist with expertise in spatial analysis, solving technical issues, database management, and cartography.  He has over 10 years of experience working closely with team members and clients as the GIS technical lead for various projects encompassing all of the services that XCG delivers.  He has developed applications and techniques to solve spatial problems for a wide variety of municipalities and organizations throughout Canada and the United States. Luke strives to provide GIS services and solutions that leverage and expand the data assets of our clients.

Carla joined XCG's Training & Operations division in a senior administrative role after having spent over 20 years in customer service and sales. Her previous work experience has helped her to ease into her role of XCG Training Program Coordinator. She assumes the role of key business liaison with Regional Municipalities and their Operators. Currently, Carla is managing a wide range of projects such as, course development, recruitment of key training staff and the development and production of training materials.
