Environmental Engineer
Kitchener

XCG is seeking an Environmental Professional with experience in environmental site assessment and remediation for our Kitchener office.

In this intermediate to senior level position, you will join an integrated multi-disciplinary team of environmental professionals. Your main assignments initially will be to project manage Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Site Remediation and Compliance Audits. Candidates who possess experience with Air Emissions modelling and compliance as well as completing Site Specific Risk Assessment will be preferred.

XCG will rely on you to coach staff, prepare project proposals and estimates, provide overall project management, prepare project documentation and ensuring quality service to clients at all times.

The successful candidate will have:

  • a minimum of 5 years experience in consulting engineering
  • strong written and oral communication skills
  • knowledge of current environmental regulations in Ontario
  • a strong site assessment and remediation background
  • hold an appropriate professional designation for the Province of Ontario, such as Professional Engineer or Professional Geoscientist

Environmental Engineer
Kingston

XCG is seeking a senior environmental professional with experience in environmental site assessment and remediation for our Kingston office.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 8 years experience in consulting engineering
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of current environmental regulations in Ontario
  • A strong site assessment and remediation background
  • Hold an appropriate professional designation for the Province of Ontario, such as Professional Engineer or Professional Geoscientist
  • Knowledge and experience with municipal civil infrastructure projects

It is also essential that the candidate has a demonstrated ability to successfully market environmental consulting services to potential clients in Ontario. Knowledge and experience in the areas of designated substances and hazardous materials, air approvals, risk assessments, and environmental compliance auditing would also be an asset.

Director, Water/Wastewater Process Engineering Group
Oakville

This is a Partner track position responsible for the overall management of our Water/Wastewater Process Engineering Group located in our Oakville and Kingston offices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and growth to the group. As Director, you're responsible to lead project and proposal teams, supervise and mentor junior and intermediate staff and ensure quality deliverables and client satisfaction for projects undertaken by the group.
  • At XCG, all of our staff are "hands-on" project managers, and we expect that you will be directly involved with managing and executing projects.
  • Leading the business development and marketing for the group. This will involve the development of strategic relationships with other firms and clients, identifying opportunities, and preparing solicited and unsolicited proposals.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Ten plus years related experience
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in teams
  • Knowledge of current Ontario water and wastewater regulations
  • Strong water and wastewater treatment process background
  • Demonstrated ability to market engineering services in Ontario
  • Must be a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario

Trainers / Operators
Kingston, Kitchener, Oakville

XCG Training and Operations Inc., is expanding its training and operations business. XCG is currently looking for experienced (full or part-time) trainers/operators to develop and deliver water and wastewater (classroom and hands-on) training courses to its clients throughout Ontario. XCG is committed to providing high quality customized training programs to its municipal and First Nations clients.

Duties:

  • Develop training material for water and/or wastewater courses
  • Deliver classroom and hands-on courses to municipal and First Nations operators

Qualifications:

  • At least three (3) years experience in developing and delivering water and/or wastewater courses for municipal operators
  • At least five (5) years experience in operating water or wastewater facilities in Ontario
  • Valid operating licenses from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment in Water Treatment (Class 2) and Water Distribution (Class 2)
  • Able to travel to small communities throughout Ontario
  • Strong presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Working knowledge of various computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.
