XCG was retained by the Regional District of Nanaimo to undertake the detailed design of the North Berm Lateral Expansion at the Nanaimo Regional Landfill.
In the period between 2014 and 2017, XCG was retained by the City of Oshawa to obtain a Record of Site Condition (RSC) for the former Marina Lands and West Wharf Lands located at the southeast corner of Harbour Road and Simcoe Street South (subject site). This former industrial/commercial site is intended to be converted to parkland and therefore triggers the requirement for a RSC.
XCG undertook the design and construction project management of a landfill gas well field and perimeter road expansion project. The project included the detail design of the berm, perimeter road (constructed of native pit run gravel excavated from on-site quarry), landfill gas header extension, and condensate knockout.
XCG completed an updated Phase One Environmental Site Assessment of this former federally-owned waterfront property in Kingston. The property had been used in the past for a variety of industrial activities including a dry dock, a shipyard, a military reserve with an artillery battery, workshops, a marine railway yard, a foundry, and a sawmill.
In 2008, XCG was retained by the City of Red Deer to prepare a Storm Water Management Plan for the Waste Management Facility (WMF). XCG also conducted the detailed design, specifications, tender documents, and construction inspection for the storm water pond for Phase 1 of the WMF landfill.
In 2008, XCG was retained by the City of Red Deer to complete annual monitoring for the Waste Management Facility (WMF). The WMF includes a Class II landfill, a leaf and yard waste composting area, a public drop-off facility, and a household hazardous waste facility. Also situated on the WMF property are a snow storage area, an aggregate storage pad, stockpile areas, maintenance building, scale house, and an office and interpretive centre. In addition, a portion of the property is used for agriculture.
XCG completed an updated Design, Operations and Closure Plan for the Sicamous Landfill. The plan was updated to meet the current Landfill Criteria and includes a detailed landfill filling plan, surface water management infrastructure, access roads, landfill gas assessment, soil management plan, and a closure plan (including final contours and cover design and post closure plan).
XCG currently provides Comprehensive Engineering Consulting Services for the Sechelt Landfill.
XCG was retained by the Regional District of North Okanagan to provide engineering services for the development of a landfill development plan and Landfill Gas Management System at the Greater Vernon Recycling and Disposal Facility. Prior to undertaking detailed design of the Landfill Gas Management System, a fill plan was developed in order to facilitate the installation of the well field by focussing on optimizing airspace consumption and progressive closure of the site.
XCG developed the Closure Plan for the Valemount Regional Landfill.
