Client: Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako
Location: Knockholt Sub-Regional Landfill, British Columbia
Budget:

$2,500 Annually

XCG undertook a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Assessment and subsequent reporting for the Knockholt Sub-Regional Landfill (Site) as the Site was exceeding the Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) threshold for GHG reporting of 10,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e) per year.

XCG completed an assessment of the following sources requiring reporting at the Site:

  • Stationary Fuel Combustion Emissions – generator use.
  • On-site Transportation – fuel usage for moving/compacting waste material and other fuel consumption by construction equipment.
  • Waste Emissions – landfilling of solid waste and burning of wood waste.
  • Biomass Combustion Emissions – burning of wood waste.

XCG prepared a GHG assessment to meet the requirements of ECCC Reporting and summarized our findings in a short letter report. XCG also reported the carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide emissions on behalf of the RDBN through the online reporting system, by the regulatory deadline.
