David has built a wealth of project management experience over the span of his career and at XCG. His ability to successfully navigate scope, schedules, and budgets in close liaison with clients, contractors, staff, and regulatory representatives is key to his successful completion of numerous projects. David diligently listens to and develops a clear understanding of a client’s needs to provide them with the technical data and solutions they require to make informed business decisions about their property or facility.
David is a multi-disciplinarian with a focus on Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Property Condition Assessments (PCAs) and Environmental Compliance Audits (ECAs). He has conducted and managed hundreds of Phase I and Phase II ESAs for due diligence purposes in accordance with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z768-01 Standard or ASTM E1527-05 Standard at residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural properties. David also has experience with remedial projects including excavation, in-situ soil and groundwater treatment, groundwater pump and treat systems, and monitored natural attenuation at commercial, industrial, and upstream oil and gas facilities.
With his knowledge and experience, David and his team regularly assess environmental conditions at a given property or facility as part of environmental due diligence activities, assess remediation requirements based on provincial and federal soil and groundwater standards, develop Phase II sampling plans, analyze environmental issues and calculate related remediation costs for a wide range of sites and building types.
In his free time, David enjoys fruit and vegetable gardening, foraging at farmer’s markets, exploring Alberta’s rural areas for local food producers, and preparing the bounty obtained from his garden and local food producers together with his wife.
