Janet is one of XCG’s Expert People. She is a Project Specialist based out of our Kitchener, Ontario office and has been part of the XCG team since June 2022. Janet attended Fleming College and received a diploma as an Environmental Technician and later received her Honors of Bachelor of Environmental Science from Trent University.
Janet has had the pleasure of being involved in many field work opportunities throughout Ontario and British Columbia. Her areas of experience include soil and groundwater monitoring, remediation for environmental site assessments (ESAs) and involvement in solid waste projects. Janet’s field activities include soil sampling (including Excess Soil projects), documentation of remedial excavations and test pits, groundwater remediation projects, on-going groundwater monitoring/sampling projects, and waste audits.
She has conducted groundwater and soil sampling for industrial, commercial, and residential properties for the presence of various contaminants including metals, petroleum hydrocarbon compounds (PHCs), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). She is also experienced in compiling field observations and analytical data.
Janet has had over a years’ experience conducting waste audits and supervising audits in Ontario for Stewardship Ontario and throughout the cities of Manitoba for Stewardship Manitoba/CBCRA (Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association). At XCG she has been part of conducting and supervising waste audits for municipal district landfills for the Sunshine Coast Regional District in Sechelt, British Columbia and the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako, British Columbia.
Her dedication and attention to detail, along with her eagerness in solving new challenges makes Janet a valued member of the XCG #ExpertPeople team.
When not on the job, Janet can be found, playing soccer, hiking, writing poetry, reading, seeing family, and hanging out with friends.
