Jessie is one of XCG’s Expert People. She’s a leader within XCG’s Solid Waste Group and has been implementing waste diversion and organics collection programs since 2009. Working out of XCG’s Edmonton office, Jessie builds strong relationships and takes pride in finding a customized waste diversion solution to help divert more waste from landfill while saving money.

Jessie is a Project Manager and a member of the Business Development Team who works from XCG’s Edmonton, Alberta office location. Jessie has her TRUE Advisor certification from the Canada Green Building Council, has over 10 years of experience in the waste management industry, and was previously the Secretary for the Recycling Council of Alberta. Her experience has focused on developing integrated waste management studies and planning documents for institutions and municipalities, implementing organics and waste diversion programs, overseeing waste collection services and operations, leading and conducting solid waste audits, BOMA BEST certifications, and the development of technical and contractual documents for waste collection services.

Over the past 10 years in the waste management industry, her career has gone full circle from being a Waste Diversion Consultant at an environmental consulting firm to a Waste/Diversion Recycling Coordinator at the University of Alberta to an Account Manager with a waste collection company and back to the consulting side as a Project Manager with XCG. While at the University of Alberta, Jessie spent 8 years managing their solid waste collection contract and implementing Zero Waste programs and initiatives, while attaining 55% diversion in 2019.

 

When not working, Jessie can be found at the gym, running outside, or in the garden in the summer. She enjoys cooking and barbequing, hiking, and camping at a lake with her husband Scotty and little dog Odie. In the past, hiking in the Rocky Mountains turned into adventures with her girlfriend Michelle where they hiked Kilimanjaro in Africa, the Lares Trek in Peru, and finally Everest Basecamp in Nepal.
