Ben is one of XCG’s Expert People. He is a Project Specialist at XCG, based out of our Kitchener, Ontario office and has been helping clients complete projects and solve environmental problems since June 2021. Ben attended the University of Guelph and received a Bachelor of Arts (Geography) and later received his Environmental Engineering Applications Graduate Certificate from Conestoga College.

His areas of experience include soil and groundwater monitoring, remediation, basic land surveying, and other fieldwork associated with Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs). Along with some report writing, he is also experienced in AutoCAD as well as compiling field observations and analytical data.

Ben’s field operations often include soil remediation, on-going groundwater remediation projects, and on-going groundwater monitoring/sampling events. He has conducted groundwater and soil sampling for industrial, commercial, and residential properties for the presence of various contaminants including metals, petroleum hydrocarbon compounds (PHCs), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). His experience also includes the supervision and documentation of monitoring well installation, test pits and remedial excavations. Ben also has experience conducting waste audits.

Along with his attention to detail, his eagerness in solving new challenges makes Ben a valued member of the XCG #ExpertPeople team.

When not on the job, Ben can be found playing or watching sports, camping, hiking, and spending time with his family.
