Carly Northey

Carly is one of XCG’s Expert People. She is a Project Geoscientist, based out of our Kitchener, Ontario office and has been helping clients solve environmental issues since 2016. Carly has a degree in Earth and Atmospheric Science from the University of Guelph and is registered as a Professional Geoscientist in Ontario.

During her time at XCG, Carly has conducted field work in a variety of projects across Southern Ontario. She is a multi-disciplinarian with a focus on environmental site assessment (ESA) activities and excess soil management. Carly has conducted and managed numerous Phase I and Phase II ESAs for both due diligence purposes in accordance with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z768-01 and Z769-00 Standards and for the purpose of obtaining a Record of Site Condition (RSC) in accordance with Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 153/04 at residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural properties. She has conducted and managed numerous Excess Soil Management Plans (including Assessment of Past Uses, Sampling and Analysis Plans, Soil Characterization Reports, and Excess Soil Destination Assessment Reports) in accordance with O. Reg. 406/19, and for due-diligence purposes to support Project Leaders at Reuse Sites.

Carly has experience managing a variety of field activities, such as borehole drilling, monitoring well installation, soil vapour and indoor air sampling, test pitting, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, geophysical surveying, in-situ chemical oxidation remedial injections, and contaminated soil excavation. She is well versed in different sampling methodologies and is always eager to apply her skills to new and challenging environments.

Carly is a valued member of the XCG #ExpertPeople team. In her free time, Carly enjoys hanging out with her daughters, kayaking, snowboarding, and cutting grass. Carly is always happy to support your environmental needs.
