Michelle Grant

Michelle is one of XCG’s Expert People. She is a Project Specialist at XCG, based out of our Kitchener, Ontario office and has been helping clients solve environmental problems since April 2021. Michelle attended the University of Guelph and received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences. She later received her Environmental Engineering Applications Graduate Certificate from Conestoga College.

Since joining XCG, Michelle has conducted field work for projects throughout Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta. Her areas of experience include environmental site assessment (ESA), soil and groundwater projects, and solid waste projects. Michelle’s field operations often include Phase I & II environmental site assessments (ESA), soil remediation, groundwater remediation projects, and on-going groundwater monitoring/sampling events. She has conducted groundwater and soil sampling for industrial, commercial, and residential properties for the presence of various contaminants including metals, petroleum hydrocarbon compounds (PHCs), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Her experience also includes the supervision and documentation of monitoring well installation, test pits, and remedial excavations. She is also experienced in compiling field observations and analytical data along with reporting.

Michelle has obtained Circular Innovation Council and 3RCertified Waste Auditor Training. She has been the lead solid waste auditor for multiple projects including a waste audit for a large institution in Alberta and a municipal district landfill waste audit on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia.

Her dedication and enthusiasm in her role, along with her eagerness in solving new challenges makes Michelle a valued member of the XCG #ExpertPeople team.

When not on the job, Michelle can be found horseback riding, playing volleyball, camping, writing, and visiting friends and family back home in Alberta.
